I have taken part in various lectures and seminars, pertaining to the subject of International law, where the issues about human rights were discussed.
In this post I am going to tell you about some of them which definitely helped me to ameliorate the understanding of the legal basis of International relations. During our discussions, I got to know different aspects of some particular cases, especially those which are novel for our times of crucial changes.
One of such meetings was held by European Law Student Association ( also known as "ELSA") in Odesa. Online, of course, taking into consideration the prescribed quarantine measures. The key speaker of the workshop was Emre Sencer, the associate professor of history at Knox College, enlightening the subject of "Populism and rightwing movements in the 20th century".
During the lecture we negotiated over the issue, dedicated to modern political tendences in the United States of America.
Another online lecture I attended was organized bu the National University "Odesa Law Academy", where the analysis of fundamental Legal Principles was given by the attorney Peter Kolker.
Also, an interesting online meeting was held by the aforementioned University in Odesa where as a guest professor Jan K.Seigel set the light on the subject of "Jury trials in Criminal Cases". Traditionally, after the presentation of the main thesis, participants have the opportunity to ask particular questions. On this occasion, I inquired as to the specific alterations in the functioning of the institution of the Bar during significant alterations such as online legal proceedings etc., the subject of which is directly interrelated with some of my scientific works.
Undoubtedly, the online layout of the lectures has changed the way we gain knowledge to some extent, but I cannot say that it is less effective. Vice versa, the lectures unite students from all over the world and induce them to think over vital aspects of being.
